When Steve Jobs was alive and in charge of Apple, things were dandy. When Steve passed, Apple went to hell.
- 1. Apple threw all their OS9 customers overboard when OSX (ten) was released. One Friday there was OS9 customer support the next Monday it was gone. All you would hear is, “We don’t support OS9 any more.” What about the tens of thousands of your customers who bought OS9 computers and software? “We don’t support OS9 any more.”
- 2. Apple threw their iMovie customers overboard when Apple purchased the very expensive Final Cut Pro video editing system. With the next release of iMovie, all the good features had been removed.
- 3. Apple threw their iWeb customers overboard when they put this popular web design software through EOL (end of life). The software was no longer available. The software was no longer supported. The very next OS would not even run iWeb if you still had a copy.
- 4. Apple threw their Time Machine customers overboard when they came out with the failed Time Capsule product. A Time Capsule was a Wi Fi router with a crummy hard drive in it. The hard drive could not be backed up. The hard drive could not be repaired with Disk Utility.
The original Time Machine would back up each Mac quickly by hooking directly up to it. When all the macs had been backed up, the backup disc was connected to the wi fi router where it would continue to back up ALL the Macs slower, but automatically.
When the failed Time Capsule product came out, Time Machine was changed so that it would only back up macs through the WAY WAY slower wi fi method.
- 5. Apple threw their disgruntled customers overboard who wanted to abandon Mac OS for honest, powerful, fast, bullet-proof Linux OS. Macs used to be able to boot from an alternative OS that was on an external drive or flash “stick” (thumb drive). When newer Macs came out, this escape route was cut of by a T2 boot “protection” chip. This T2 chip made certain that Macs would ONLY boot from “genuine” Mac software.
This put all Mac users into Apple Jail by preventing the installation of a vastly superior (and friendlier) Linux system like Ubuntu.
Once “loyal” Apple customers (who now despise Apple because of their corrupt policies) are totally BLOCKED from installing Ubuntu.
In order to obliterate the now-despised Apple OS from my iMac I have to
- 5.1. Take my iMac to a repair shop along with my Ubuntu install flash drive (USB “stick”)
- 5.2. Have the hard drive removed
- 5.3. Have the drive erased and Ubuntu installed outside of my iMac (where the T2 jail keeper chip could not interfere)
- 5.4. Put the iMac drive back into the Mac with Ubuntu already installed
- 5.5. Finally say goodbye to the failed Apple OS and enjoy Linux / Ubuntu
The problem is not with the drive. The problem is with the T2 chip in the motherboard. Once the drive is removed, the chip can no longer prevent Ubuntu installation.
And Now, For The Rest Of The Story
The entire Apple story is a lot worse.

Windows malware/spyware is even worse than that!
